Our son had surgery at your center recently. We were very pleased with the care from your staff and always feel we are in good hands with you (this was his 3rd surgery at Valley).

I usually don’t take the time to write letters about services, but I could not let the extraordinary efforts of Nurse Jodi go unrecognized.

When were putting our son to bed the night after the surgery, we could not find our son’s favorite blanket. Our son has a form of autism and this baby blanket helps him to settle down and comfort him; he cannot go to sleep without it. We quickly realized we probably left the blanket on the stretcher at your center. We thought we would have to wait 3 long nights to see if the blanket could be found. Our son was very upset.

On Saturday morning, Nurse Jodi called to check on our son’s recovery. I let her know about the blanket and how much it helps, and means to, my son. In my wildest dreams, I did not expect her to do what she did next.

Nurse Jodi contacted staff from the center and pinned down where the blanket might be. Then, she went to the cleaning company who takes care of the linens and found the blanket. However, it did not stop there! She drove to our home and brought the blanket to our son! Wow! It brought tears to my eyes, having someone go out of their way so much for our son.

Please thank your staff, and especially Jodi!! I commented to my husband that so many of the nurses were the same from our previous surgeries.

Clearly you have tremendous professionals working with you! Nurse Jodi was inspiring to us in how she cared for us and took the extra steps to help us.
